Baby O: Unresolved eczema, gastro-oesophageal reflux disease and GI symptoms despite trying several amino acid formulas
With suspected CMPA, Baby O’s symptoms deteriorated while being managed on an extensively hydrolysed formula, prompting a change of prescription to amino acid-based formula (AAF) with LCP and Gaviscon at 3 weeks of age. Persisting GI symptoms resulted in a trial of an alternate AAF which produced short term relief as Baby O experienced a further deterioration of symptoms after a week on new AAF. A third AAF formula with synbiotics was trialled and was the only AAF tolerated by Baby O after a 5-day settling in period.
Baby N: Ongoing allergic GI and skin symptoms on an extensively hydrolysed formula
Baby N presented at 5 months with suspected non-IgE mediated allergy. Previously having trialled different formulas including anti-regurgitation formula to manage gastrointestinal symptoms, Baby N was switched to an extensively hydrolysed formula in conjunction with milk and soya maternal diet exclusion. At the 4 week follow up, some dermatological symptoms showed improvement while gastrointestinal symptoms including constipation persisted. Read the full case study to explore how switching to an amino acid formula containing synbiotics improved stool frequency for Baby N.
Baby K: Persistent constipation and poor feeding, could it be CMPA?
After being born prematurely via C-section, Baby K, presented with a variety of symptoms including loose stools, vomiting, constipation and feeding issues. From initial management with an amino acid formula with LCP to extensively hydrolysed formula and then amino acid formula with synbiotics, read about how synbiotics helped Baby K to have softer stools by rebalancing the faecal microbiota.
Baby B: Treating MFA, faltering growth & loose stools
At 2 months old, Baby B presented with atopic dermatitis, faltering growth, and loose stools. Diagnosed with multiple food allergies, from 5 months old he was slowly transitioned to a synbiotic amino-acid formula and guided solids diet. Read more about his symptoms and the chosen protocol.
Baby E: Presenting with FPIES and faltering growth
Baby E experienced a range of food sensitivities and faltering growth through her first year. Through careful introduction of new foods and elimination of foods creating a trigger, plus supplementing diet with Neocate Syneo, growth improved significantly, and many trouble foods were successfully introduced.
Baby J: Interrupted microbiome from birth and multiple food allergies
Baby J presented with multiple food allergies, eosinophilic oesophagitis, and faltering growth when his mother consulted a Paediatric Dietitian at 7 months. There were concerns that he had an interrupted microbiome from antibiotics at birth and maternal antibiotics. After two months of Neocate Syneo symptoms and growth improved.
