Dr Peter Collins

Is a Senior Lecturer in Nutrition & Dietetics at Griffith University and a Registered Dietitian in both the UK and Australia, holding a PhD in Clinical Nutrition from The University of Southampton. His research focuses on detecting and managing disease-related malnutrition in respiratory disease patients. As a member of the Patient-Centred Health Services research group at Menzies Health Institute Queensland, he explores innovative solutions for malnutrition treatment. Peter is passionate about community dietetics and the role of dietitians in evidence-based nutrition support. He serves on the editorial board of the Journal of Human Nutrition and Dietetics, is an Early Career Faculty member of ESPEN, and is leading the development of new ESPEN guidelines for clinical nutrition in COPD.

Dr Emma Ridley

Is a Senior Research Fellow at ANZIC-RC, Monash University, and a Senior Clinical Dietitian in ICU at The Alfred Hospital. She completed her PhD in 2018, focusing on energy requirements and nutrition delivery in critically ill patients. In 2019, she was a finalist for the Premier’s Awards for Health and Medical Research. Emma has delivered numerous national and international presentations, served as an Editor for Australian Critical Care, and authored 43 peer-reviewed publications. She has secured $6.3 million in research funding and is the Chief Investigator on the INTENT trial, exploring hospital nutrition interventions for critically ill patients (NCT03292237).
