Our local story

The farming doctor Returning from study and work in the UK, Sir Truby Francis King released the very first nutritional guidelines for infants.
Karitane products were born Under Sir Truby's guidance, the Karitane Products Society developed its first range of milk-based powdered formulas.
Supporting more parents and little ones Karitane products extended its distribution into New Zealand, Australia and Asia.
Karicare is born Karitane Products became part of Nutricia – and the Karicare range is born! This gave us access to the world’s first dedicated research centre for baby and medical nutrition.
Growing stronger Nutricia becomes a part of the Danone Group, one of the most recognised manufacturers in infant nutrition.
Locally made In the heartland where it all began, New Zealand - Danone acquires a new factory and gains access to source milk from 18 local farms.
Inspired by the work and spirit of our original founders, we continue to create trusted products and support parents and carers around the world.

Supporting choices for mums

Before you enter, please read this important statement:

If you are able, breastfeeding is best. It provides all the nutritional health benefits as Mother Nature intended. In readying for and during breastfeeding, it's important that mums eat a healthy, balanced diet.

If you're considering bottle feeding, seek professional medical advice first. Introducing bottle feeding either partially or exclusively, may reduce the supply of your own breast milk, which makes reversing the decision not to breast feed difficult. Also consider the social and financial implications, such as convenience and cost over time.

When using infant formula, always follow the instructions for use carefully, unnecessary or improper use may make your baby ill.
