So, we are going carbon neutral
We started this revolution by being one of the first milk formula brands in Australia and New Zealand to commit to becoming carbon neutral. Why? Because we are passionate about the health of Aussie kids and Kiwi kids. We think about the ingredients we put in and leave out. We look after the land we use to make our milk so we can provide nutrition to help your kids grow up healthy and strong.
Our Karicare Toddler Gold Plus+ range (A2 protein and Organic) has been certified carbon neutral in 2022.
And we’re not stopping there. We are committed to all Karicare Toddler products being certified carbon neutral by 2030.
What does it mean to be certified carbon neutral?
To reach our 2030 goal we are:
Continuously measuring our carbon emissions at every step
Implementing lots of activities to reduce our impact, like reducing water waste, using green electricity and making sure our products are recyclable
Offsetting our remaining CO2 emissions by investing in projects that protect or restore our environment

Project Soil Health New Zealand
In partnership with Synlait and AgResearch, regenerative agriculture practices were implemented on 10 dairy farms in New Zealand. This 5 year pilot aims to improve soil health and to scientifically compare conventional agriculture to regenerative agriculture. The project is co-funded by the Ministry for Primary Industries’ (MPI) Sustainable Food and Fibre Futures fund.
2022
New Biomass boiler at Balclutha plant.
A state-of-the-art biomass boiler will be installed at Danone’s New Zealand spray drying facility. It’s 100% sustainably powered using locally sourced forestry industry byproducts reducing our plant’s CO2 emissions by 20,000 tonnes a year.

Karicare Toddler Gold+ A2 and Karicare Gold+ Organic ranges have been certified carbon neutral.
2025
100% of Karicare Toddler packaging will be recyclable, reusable or compostable.
2026
Project Soil Health New Zealand
The project started in 2021 and after completing the results will be published for use throughout the entire dairy industry.
2030
All of our Karicare Toddler products will be certified carbon neutral.
