Mild Cognitive Impairment (MCI) currently affects around 1 million people in Australia. Having MCI doesn’t mean a person has dementia or even that they will go on to develop dementia, however early identification and management is critical to influence the trajectory for these patients. Pharmacists are ideally placed to identify patients with symptoms of mild cognitive impairment and to help implement healthcare strategies that can reverse, stabilise or slow the progression of this condition.
Speaker: Associate Professor Michael Woodward, Geriatrician & Director at Aged Care Research, Austin Health
